Two people were seriously injured when a car rolled on Masters Road in Waiuku last night. Three fire appliances attended the crash.
"Early indications are that alcohol is a factor, "Senior Sergeant Duncan Hall of Counties-Manukau Police said. "The two male occupants appeared intoxicated.'' The vehicle rolled once and landed on its roof, he added.
A Westpac Rescue Trust Helicopter and ambulance were on the scene from 7.50pm. Both patients were in a serious condition and were taken to Auckland Hospital. Police said it would take up to four weeks to fully determine whether alcohol was involved in the crash.
Hall said that Masters Road is not known for crashes.
