Two people have been rescued from a steep mountain range in the Spenser Mountain area, near Nelson.
An intensive care paramedic was winched into the scene yesterday afternoon to rescue a 46-year-old man who had tumbled 200m down the side of the mountain suffering multiple injuries.
He and his partner from Auckland were both winched onboard.
The man's been transported to Nelson Hospital.
