Police are speaking with two youths after a near-100km chase of a stolen vehicle, which was caught driving on the wrong side of a Wellington motorway.
A police spokeswoman said the car was first seen on traffic cameras in Lower Hutt on the motorway about 7.45pm.
The car, a Holden Captiva, had been reported stolen from Wainuiomata just before 6pm.
Witnesses reported seeing the car heading south in a northbound lane of State Highway 1 near Hebden Cr.
Police began looking for the car but failed to locate it with patrols until it reached the Kapiti Expressway.
