Two people are in hospital after a large house fire in Lower Hutt overnight.
Fire crews were called to a two-storey home on Major Drive, in Kelson, at about 1.30am.
A central fire communications spokesman said the house was well alight when several fire crews arrived.
He said two people were taken to hospital for treatment. However, it was not known what condition they were in.
One fire engine is still at the property.
