KEY POINTS:
Police have arrested two more men alleged to have bashed Whangarei lifeguard James Bidois.
Les Tasos Connelly, 26, unemployed, and Georgie Abraham Ngaau, 21, forklift operator - both from Onerahi - appeared in the Whangarei District Court yesterday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Judge John McDonald remanded the pair without plea in custody until Monday.
Dave Sayes, appearing as duty solicitor for both men, did not seek bail.
A third person, Brandon Cole McMahon, 18, unemployed of Tikipunga, appeared in court on Monday charged with assault and was remanded to December 18.
Whangarei police Detective Dave Hamilton called on help from members of the public for information about a car seen at Ocean Beach on the day of the alleged attack.
"Inquiries are continuing, with a number of other people being associated with this," Mr Hamilton said.
In particular police want to hear from anyone who may have seen a brown or golden coloured Holden car being driven by a Caucasian woman in her early 20s.
The car, which could be missing a rear bumper, was seen in the Ocean Beach car park and then heading toward Whangarei.
Police are interested in sightings of the car between 1pm and 5pm on Sunday.
"No matter how insignificant people might think their information is about this vehicle, I want to hear from them," Mr Hamilton said.
* Anyone with information should contact Mr Hamilton at the Whangarei Police Station on (09) 430-4500.
