Two men killed on Bay of Plenty roads this week have been named by police.
Lawrence Mio Kerr, 51, from Torere near Opotiki, was the driver of a fully laden logging truck which rolled after failing to negotiate a right-hand bend on State Highway 35 near Waihau Bay on Tuesday.
Mr Kerr was trapped in the cab after the truck came off the road and overturned into a ditch, police said. He died at the scene.
Motorcyclist Clinton Hunter, 26, from Tauranga, died in a collision with a car around 7pm yesterday on Carmichael Rd, Tauranga. Initial enquiries indicate a Peugeot being driven by an elderly woman turned into the path of Mr Hunter's bike, police said.
The car's driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Tauranga Hospital.
