Two men have been charged with aggravated robbery following a string of unprovoked attacks in central Wellington last night.
Three men - one aged 21 and two aged 40 - were assaulted in separate incidents between Courtenay Place and Te Aro Park, a short distance away, around 11.30pm, police said.
All three were injured, with one man sustaining a fractured nose, and one man was robbed of a bag.
Police believed the same two men were involved in the attacks, Detective Sergeant John van den Heuvel said.
A 21-year-old man was charged with aggravated robbery and two charges of assault, and a 19-year-old man was charged with aggravated robbery.
Both were remanded in custody after appearing in Wellington District Court this morning, and will reappear in court on Monday.
Police were seeking further information from people who may have seen the assaults, or been a victim to a similar offence.
