It would take a brave punter to bet against Eketahuna and Greytown hosting the semifinals for the Wairarapa-Bush Rugby Union's Tui Cup premier division competition this season.
With just four series of qualifying round matches still to be played, they sit atop the points table with 41 points apiece and, with third-placed Pioneer 12pts behind them, it's unlikely they will be overhauled.
Pioneer had a hiccup on Saturday when they went down to Martinborough 19-10 but, with 29 points to show for their efforts thus far, a semifinal spot also seems well within their grasp. Gladstone are fourth with 26, seven points clear of the chasing pack, headed by East Coast.
Points are: Eketahuna and Greytown 41, Pioneer 29, Gladstone 26, East Coast 19, Marist 18, Martinborough 16 and Carterton 10.
The draw for this coming Saturday is: East Coast v Eketahuna at Whareama, Gladstone v Carterton at Carterton, Martinborough v Greytown at Martinborough, Pioneer v Marist at Jeans Street, Masterton.
