The death of a pedestrian in suburban Auckland yesterday morning brought the number of deaths on the nation's roads to two so far this Labour weekend.
An elderly woman died after being hit by a car early yesterday in Royal Oak. No further information was available.
On Saturday, milk tanker driver Mark Anthony Tierney, of Ohope, died after his truck overturned at Matata, 23km northeast of Whakatane. No other vehicle was involved in the early afternoon crash.
