Two killed in Hastings crash named

Police have released the names of the two people who died when a car and truck crashed near Hastings this morning.

They were Ricki Martin Bartlett, 67, of Napier and Shileen Marie Aroha Cadwallader, 27, of Central Hawke's Bay.

Police spokeswoman Kris McGehan said the truck and car collided on State Highway 50 at about 9.30am today.

She said Mr Bartlett was driving a truck that collided with the car driven by Ms Cadwallader.

The crash occurred on the highway just north of the Gimblett Rd intersection and the serious crash unit are investigating.
