KEY POINTS:
Three people were taken to hospital - two with serious injuries - after a three-car crash north of Wellington this morning.
Inspector Chris Tate of police central communications said the collision happened at 2am on State Highway 1 at Paekakariki.
Two people were treated at the scene. The road was partially closed for an hour.
