Two people have been injured after a fire broke out at a meat processing plant in Te Aroha.
Emergency services were called to the Silver Fern Farms site at Te Aroha at 7.15am.
Fire Service spokesman Jaron Phillips said it was not yet clear what caused the fire but it started in a conveyor system in the plant's boning room.
Eight fire appliances were sent to the scene and paramedics treated two people. Mr Phillips did not know how they were injured but said they were status three, so had moderate injuries.
A Fire Service safety investigator is on his way to the site.
