Two people are recovering in hospital after a shooting at a house in the Auckland suburb of Glen Eden today.
Neighbours reported hearing shots fired in the Woodglen Road address just after 11am today.
Detective Sergeant Sean Hyland-Mills from Henderson police told National Radio one of the men, aged 30, had a serious eye injury and would be transferred from Auckland Hospital to Middlemore for surgery later today.
His injuries were caused by shotgun pellets.
The second victim, a 35-year-old man, was also at Auckland hospital and was being treated for similar shotgun wounds.
Police said that man was under police guard at the hospital.
Mr Hyland-Mills said they were still piecing together what happened during the attack.
"It's still at the beginning of our inquiry - we're speaking to a number of witnesses."
He said specialists were still at the scene trying to identify the weapon and how many people were involved.
Police were also looking for a white Ford Falcon, with three men in it, seen leaving the scene minutes before police arrived.
These people are considered suspects in the shooting.
Mr Hyland-Mills said police did not know the reason for the attack.
Police are urging the public to contact Henderson CIB if they have any information surrounding the shooting.
