Two people were hurt after their campervan crashed through a fence and rolled down a bank into a farm paddock in the Waikato this afternoon.
The campervan ran out of control on a moderate bend, crashed through a fence and gate and rolled down a bank into a farm paddock near the Waitomo Caves at 2pm, Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance pilot Dan Harcourt sid.
"The woman driver received minor injuries and was driven to Waikato Hospital for treatment while the front passenger, a 30-year-old Peruvian man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the van as it rolled over.
The man injured his lower back, abdomen and arm and was flown to Waikato Hospital in a stable condition, where scans revealed a fracture in his lower back, Mr Harcourt said.
