Two boys were flown by rescue helicopter to hospital after separate mishaps in Hawke's Bay yesterday.
A Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said the first rescue occurred at 3.30pm and involved a 10-year-old boy, who suffered head injuries after he fell from his motorbike at a riverbank in Waipukurau.
The boy was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital, where he was in a stable condition this afternoon.
Three hours later, the helicopter flew to a farm at Patoka where a 12-year-old had suffered a fractured leg after slipping down a hill. Patoka is 40km north-west of Napier.
He was also flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital, but his condition this afternoon was not immediately available.
