A person is fighting for their life after a vehicle rolled in the Waitomo district this evening.
A police spokewoman said emergency services were alerted at 9pm to the crash on State Highway 3 at Mahoenui, about 90 kilometres south-west of Te Kuiti.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle, which was upside down, she said.
Northern Ambulance Communications team leader Leah Grave said one person was critically injured and would soon be flown by rescue helicopter to a yet-to-be determined hospital.
A second person had minor injuries, she said.
