KEY POINTS:
Two young men were burned badly in a gas explosion in a dwelling at Te Poi, near Matamata, today, a Westpac Waikato air ambulance statement said.
The men suffered severe burns to their arms, legs and faces in the blast.
Both were treated initially at the scene by paramedics and then flown to Waikato Hospital.
A wall in the house was blown out and furniture suffered burn damage.
Fire Service authorities were at the scene trying to determine the exact cause of the blast.
