Two hurt after car hits power transformer in Rotorua

One person is fighting for their life and another is seriously hurt after a car hit a power transformer in Rotorua overnight.

The crash happened about 1.20am on Wrigley Rd, Fordlands, when the car lost control, badly damaging the transformer and a fence.

Power is out to 61 customers in Fordlands, according to the Unison outages website.
