Two people have been flown to Christchurch Hospital after a car smash at Robinson's Bay near Akaroa.
A police spokesman said the two people were initially trapped in their car after they ran off the road at the corner of Robinson's Bay Valley Rd and School Rd just before 2pm today.
"Fire and ambulance organised a helicopter to take the two people away," he said.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said one of the two people had moderate injuries and one had minor injuries. Both have been airlifted to Christchurch Hospital.
