The Fire Service has concluded that two fires in the North Island last night were not suspicions.
Firefighters were first called to a fire at a pub in the Taranaki town of Inglewood about 7.40pm last night, central fire communications shift manager Tim Rees told NZPA.
Eight fire appliances brought the blaze at Fern Lodge, known locally as The Top Pub, under control after fears it could spread to a timber fabrication plant behind the hotel.
About 8.30pm eight fire appliances were called to at the Taylor Preston meat processing plant in Wellington.
The fire was brought under control and no injuries were reported.
A Fire Service spokesman told NZPA today that neither fire was considered suspicious.
