This country's drink-driving limit is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood - the same as Britain and the United States - but Australia and most of Europe use a limit of 50mg per 100ml, also referred to as a 0.05 limit.
Only Parliament can change the law. But we can help change attitudes. Our campaign will encourage people to regulate themselves, and to not drive if they've had more than two drinks.
Kiwi designer Cybele Wiren explains why she is supporting the Two Drinks Max campaign:
Why are you backing the Two Drinks Max campaign?
It's such an important issue for everyone - that we can be as safe as possible on the roads. The statistics say it all.
Anyone you know affected?
Definitely people I know. Friends and family who have been impacted in different ways.
When and who was involved?
Some people I had gone to school with had lost their lives in car accidents or had different levels of injury caused to them or
they had caused this by themselves.
Long term effects?
People who have learned a lesson, to others who have experienced
incredible losses that have had an incredible impact on their lives.
