KEY POINTS:
Police are seeking witnesses to a crash which blocked the main road leading to and from Auckland International Airport through the night.
Two people were killed and two others injured when a car and a four-wheel drive collided on George Bolt Memorial Drive just after 9pm. Police say the car, which was driving towards the airport, suddenly veered into an oncoming lane.
A man from one vehicle and a woman from the other are dead. Another man and woman are in serious conditions in Middlemore Hospital.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash, or a silver Toyota Altezza saloon being driven in the area about nine o';clock.
