Two people have been killed in a fiery crash near Te Karaka, in the Gisborne district, tonight.
The accident has closed Matawai Rd, about 4km west of Te Karaka, and diversions are in place.
A police spokesman said two cars were involved and one had caught fire.
Two people are confirmed dead while a third person has been taken to hospital.
