Police have released the names of the two people shot dead in Napier.
They were 61 year old Stephen Webby and 39 year old Annette Pollock.
Police were alerted by people living in Harold Holt Avenue on Friday night who heard gunshots going off shortly after midnight. Police say post mortems will be carried out on the bodies tomorrow.
Senior Sergeant Tony Dewhurst says they are still interested in hearing from anyone in the area at the time of the shootings.
