Two men - one with a neck injury - have been airlifted to hospital after falling from their bikes in two separate incidents in the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park, near Motueka.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was called to the first incident about 10.30 am after a 50-year-old rider fell from his bike and suffered rib and chest injuries.
An intensive care paramedic assessed the man at the scene and he was taken to Nelson Hospital emergency department in a stable condition.
After dropping the man off the helicopter was sent to the same park to pick up another man who had fallen while riding and hurt his neck.
Due to his location on the track, the second man had to be winched out on a specialised stretcher and flown to Nelson Hospital emergency department for further assessment.
