Two children were flown to Waikato Hospital yesterday after sustaining facial injuries in separate incidents.
An 11-year-old boy suffered burns to his face after a fire he was tending in Raglan exploded.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew the boy to Waikato Hospital's emergency department yesterday.
The helicopter was later called to New Plymouth where a child had suffered a dog bite to the face. The child, whose age and gender has not been released, was also taken to Waikato Hospital.
Staff used night-vision goggles for both emergencies.
