Two men have been arrested over the alleged pack rape of a Christchurch woman.
The woman, in her 30s, told police she was sexually violated by a group of men she met on a raft anchored for swimmers at Corsair Bay, near Lyttelton, on Sunday, November 16.
The
alleged attack, by between four and six men ranging in age from 20s to 40s, happened later the same day in a south Christchurch suburb.
Detective Sergeant Ross Tarawhiti, Southern CIB, said today two males aged 17 and 18, were to appear in the Christchurch District Court on December 3.
Both have been charged with theft of property belonging to the complainant.
Other people were being sought in connection with the alleged attack and more arrests were expected.
Police investigating the case had asked to see any photos taken by people at Corsair Bay between 11am and 3.15pm on the day of the attack, as they could hold the key to the inquiry.
Mr Tarawhiti said police would like to thank people who had sent in photos or phoned with information.
"Their help has been invaluable in identifying the men sought by police," he said.
