Two men have been charged following the alleged assault of a man in Paihia yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said the 32-year-old Paihia man was found in Kings Road, Paihia, by two members of the public about 3.30am.
He had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Bay of Islands Hospital before being transferred to Whangarei Hospital.
Police wanted to hear from anyone who was in the area between 11pm on Thursday and 3.30am yesterday.
Two men, aged 18 and 22, were due to appear in the Kaikohe District Court today charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent.
