Carterton will have two teams in this year's Netball Wairarapa premier one competition which gets under way on Saturday.
They are Sports Arena Carterton and Carterton Red with the Reds earning their spot by beating Fagan Motors Hot Shots 45-41 in a playoff match held at the Genesis Recreation Centre last Friday night. That encounter was a close-fought encounter with Carterton Red owing much to the accurate shooting of Kelly Limpus for their victory.
The vacancy in the premier one series occurred after Celtic Marist withdrew .Joining the two Carterton sides in that grade will be Wairarapa College A, St Matthews Collegiate A, Kuranui College A, Salute Greytown, Harcourts and Gladstone All Blacks.
Intentions are to play two premier one matches at the Colombo Road courts on Saturdays and the other two at the Genesis Recreation Centre on Monday evenings.
