The Hawke's Bay Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was called out to two separate incidents yesterday afternoon where patients suffered head injuries.
The first, at 4pm, was at Nuhaka, south of Gisborne, after a 64-year-old woman fell from rocks at a swimming hole.
She was airlifted to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
In the second rescue, a 38-year-old man slipped on board a fishing vessel around 100km off the east coast of Napier.
The man was winched aboard the rescue helicopter and airlifted to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
