Two bodies have been recovered off Great Barrier Island following a diving accident.
Police said the men were thought to be aged 31 and 55.
They were a part of a group of five when the accident happened. The three other men were still on Great Barrier Island, police said.
The bodies have not been formally identified, but authorities have notified next of kin.
"Our sympathies are with the families at this tragic time,'' police said.
