A couple on the run from police for several days after they allegedly rammed a police car near Te Awamutu were arrested after an early morning raid by armed police at a Waikato property.
Dwight Percivil Fatu, a 41-year-old Mongrel Mob leader with an extensive criminal history, was remanded in custody after he appeared in Hamilton District Court yesterday to face charges of reckless driving and failing to stop. His partner Delia Clementina Chetcuti is to appear in Tauranga District Court next week.
The pair were allegedly involved in an incident in which Fatu twice reversed his car into a police car.
Police said they needed help to find the vehicle allegedly used, a white 2004 Mazda sedan, registration number GFK842.
