Two men were arrested after an armed offenders squad call out in Balclutha yesterday.
The AOS was alerted after a man involved in a fight between groups outside a hotel threatened to use a firearm.
Sergeant Martin Bull said police used the AOS to help execute a search warrant at a house but no firearms were found.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence and a 28-year-old Invercargill man was arrested and charged with giving false details, disqualified driving and for an outstanding warrant issued for breaching his parole conditions.
Mr Bull said police wanted to speak to anyone who witnessed either incident early yesterday morning.
