KEY POINTS:
The Armed Offenders Squad surrounded a house in suburban Dunedin early this morning after reports two women had been assaulted.
Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said police were called about 1.30am to a Brockville address after allegations the women had been assaulted with a side handled baton, like a police baton.
The AOS were called as it was also alleged a man had threatened people at the house with a cross bow.
Mr Aitken said the AOS arrested two people at the house without incident.
A 36-year-old man was to appear in the Dunedin District Court this morning charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm.
A 36-year-old woman would be charged with assault with a weapon.
