Two arrested after high speed chase

Two men have been arrested after a high speed police chase in south Auckland.

Motorists in the Botany Downs area reported at least a dozen police cars and the police helicopter chasing a blue sedan.

Police spokeswoman Anamarie Gates-Bowey says the chase started in Otara, after police tried pulling over a suspicious vehicle, and ended a short time ago in Pakuranga.

She says road spikes were laid, and a 17-year-old and man in his early 20s were arrested.

Ms Gates-Bowey says no one was injured during the incident.
