Two people will face assault and burglary charges in the Hamilton District Court today.
Two people have been arrested after a cop car was allegedly repeatedly rammed and shots fired during a police stop on Coromandel.
Waikato District field crime manager Acting Detective Inspector Dean Anderson, said a 37-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested last night after a driver allegedly tried to
run down a police officer in Hikuai, south of Tairua, on Monday night.
The pair will appear in the Hamilton District Court today, facing charges including burglary and aggravated assault.
Further charges are being considered.
Anderson thanked members of the public who contacted police with information about the investigation.
