Two people have been arrested in connection with a break-in at the Caltex Solway service station in Masterton.
Sergeant Jennifer Nelley said the High St service station was broken into about 4.25am yesterday, with the alleged burglars making off with cigarettes.
The arrest was made a short distance from the station after police received reports of a suspicious vehicle failing to stop in the area, Mrs Nelley said.
A 28-year-old Masterton man has been charged with burglary and a 41-year-old Masterton man has been charged with receiving.
Both are due to appear in Masterton District Court early next week.
