A good Samaritan who helped a distressed student after he had been kidnapped and robbed in south Auckland on Tuesday is still being sought by police.
Two men were due in court today after the 17-year-old Vietnamese student was kidnapped as he stepped off a bus in Mangere. However, police said they were still trying to find the woman who helped the student three hours later when he was dumped by his kidnappers.
An 18-year-old and a 24-year-old man were due to appear in Manukau District Court today charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
The victim was taken about 8pm when he got off a bus on Tuesday. He was forced to take money from his account at a money machine before he was dumped in Bader Drive three hours later.
He was helped by a woman who took him to his homestay parents and the police were called.
Police called the incident a random act of cowardice. The victim was not badly hurt.
