A sawn off air rifle was pointed at a shopkeeper in an aggravated robbery carried out by two men in Manurewa yesterday.
Police said the men entered Jay's Supermarket at about 4:30pm.
Detective Sergeant Eddie Sutherland said one man aimed the sawn off air rifle at the shopkeeper and demanded he hand over cash.
The second man then took the cash and ran out of the store, he said.
"The first male remained with the gun raised, he grabbed money off the counter and left."
Both men left in a black two door car.
