KEY POINTS:
Police are investigating two separate aggravated robberies in west Auckland.
Two men entered a dairy in the suburb of Massey yesterday and threatened the shop employee with a baseball bat.
One of the men forced the employee to remain at the rear of the store.
The robbers then smashed the till and took an undisclosed sum of money.
According to a witness the robbers then got into a stolen Red Nissan Pulsar, registration BZA 635, and left.
The two men were wearing beanies and bandanas. One of the men was of medium build, the other skinny.
The getaway car was discovered a short time later burnt out in Colwill Road, Massey, close to the dairy.
Meanwhile, Henderson police are investigating the aggravated robbery of a pharmacy in Westgate shopping centre yesterday evening.
A man dressed entirely in black entered the pharmacy right on closing time.
The offender pulled up his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a firearm similar to pistol or sawn off shotgun.
Witnesses said he was carrying a pink plastic bag similar to those used for recycling clothing.
He forced the four female staff members into a back room and filled the bag with the store's stock of ephridine tablets.
No shots were fired during the incident.
When he left the pharmacy he was seen getting into a black vehicle. The make and model of the vehicle is unknown. The offender was described as male Maori, aged late 20s or 30s, 175 cm tall, clean shaven and of medium build.
He was wearing a black beanie, black sunglasses, black shirt and black jeans.
A man similarly dressed committed an aggravated robbery at the Glendene Pharmacy on November 10.
Anyone with further information is asked to contact police.
