Two decent-sized aftershocks have struck Christchurch this morning, according to GNS Science.
The first was a 4.2 magnitude aftershock 20km west of Christchurch at a depth of 3km, at 12.03am.
GNS Science said the quake was "widely felt in mid Canterbury".
It was followed by a 4.1 magnitude quake hit 10km south-west of the city at a depth of 1km, at 6.49am
