Two 13-year-old girls have been arrested after allegedly holding a knife to the throat of another teenager and robbing her in Hamilton last night.
Sergeant Murray Stapp said the two approached a 16-year-old girl they knew in Garden Place about 9.45pm and demanded money and a cellphone.
One of the 13-year-olds produced a craft knife and threatened the girl when she did not comply.
Police found the two after watching CCTV footage and arrested them.
The victim was uninjured.
The girls spent the night in the cells and were remanded on bail until February 16 after appearing in Hamilton Youth Court this morning.
They will reappear in court on February 16.
