A pair of wriggly, giggly boys were this week clad in snuggly warm pyjamas thanks to you.
Mataio Tamua and his twin brother Feleti were wrapped up cosy in their new animal print pyjamas when the Herald on Sunday visited Kidz First Hospital in Auckland.
The 2-year-olds, recovering from a bout of pneumonia, are among thousands of kids whose winter will be a little easier after generous Kiwis donated almost 10,000 pairs of pyjamas and just under $60,000, to buy blankets, vests and bed socks, as part of the most successful Jammies in June fundraiser yet.
Organised by the Middlemore Foundation and supported by the Herald on Sunday, the campaign ended on June 30.
Foundation community relations and fundraising officer Ankita Luthra said donations had dropped off but were still being made. Any excess would be stored for use next winter.
