Firefighters in Auckland are working to extinguish a blaze at a two-storey building in Kingsland.
Fire Service spokesman Jaron Phillips said the alarm was raised at 11.45am after a fire broke out in the roof of a building in Kingsland Terrace.
Mr Phillips said Kingsland Terrace and some surrounding streets had been cordoned off while the fire was being put out.
He said there were no reports of injuries.
It was not yet known how the fire started.
Fire fighters are expected to keep working at the scene all afternoon.
