Supporters of the soon to be axed TVNZ7 channel have turned up at Parliament to make their anger known.
Around 200 or so protestors have gathered on Parliament's forecourt this afternoon to present a 36,000 signature petition calling on the Government to keep the channel on the air.
The Government's decided not to continue funding for the channel and it's due to cease operating on Saturday night.
Protest organisers say TVNZ7 hasn't been given a fair chance and has been nipped in the bud by the Government.
There's talk of setting up a new public service channel without the Government's support but the cost of obtaining a frequency is seen as a major hurdle.
