Government documents indicate management at TVNZ believes staff redundancies have benefited the state broadcaster.
A financial review report from Parliament's Commerce Select Committee reveals TVNZ's bosses are confident recent restructuring, which resulted in 125 redundancies, has significantly improved productivity.
The report says TVNZ has also undertaken a leadership programme and the broadcaster now claims to have a first class leadership team in which the board has confidence.
