TVNZ is staying quiet over disciplinary proceedings against head of news Bill Ralston.
He is alleged to have used foul language to a Herald on Sunday reporter seeking information about Mr Ralston's homeless cousin.
TVNZ spokeswoman Megan Richards said there was nothing she could say, as the matter was a staff issue.
Although Mr Ralston apologised to the newspaper, TVNZ chief executive Rick Ellis has started a disciplinary process.
