KEY POINTS:
Team New Zealand won the race for public attention in their first America's Cup outing in Valencia - attracting more TV viewers than the All Blacks.

Feels good to see and hear that Kiwi's rule the waves.

Unless I am wrong, the All Blacks game was not shown at all on TV1, TV2, TV3, Prime or Maori TV only SKY.Not a good comparison of ratings in my opinion.

That is the worst headline I have ever seen! I am a New Zealand supporter no matter what sport it is and I'm sure most other Kiwi's would agree. Who cares which had the most people watching? Just as long as New Zealand was watching and supporting our guys and girls out there representing our country (and doing well at it, I might add). Its sad that the media have managed to play our New Zealand teams off against each other - they have enough pressure with who they are facing in their match let alone worrying about their TV ratings.

I am very annoyed down here in the deep south. We are a family of 5 (2 adults-both working) and 3 young school age children. I love watching rugby but we have only got channel 1,2,3. I refuse to get sky as its so expensive so I no longer am able to watch Rugby. 25 years ago I could sit with my Dad and enjoy the game but these days we get the odd snapshot of Rugby after the news so my kids have no interest at all in it,on the other hand, we can watch the yachting highlights in the morning and even live if we want to. Rugby ,for us, has died and is available to only a select few!

I dont think you can compare the ratings as the yachting is on free-to-air tv1, and the rugby is on pay-tv. I would have personally watched the rugby but aren't privileged enough to have sky tv.
