Tuhirangi maintained their unbeaten record in the Wairarapa-Bush Rugby Union's senior reserve competition with a hard-fought 27-18 win over Pioneer in Masterton last Saturday.
In wet, muddy conditions which tested the stamina of both sides, Tuhirangi ran in tries through Alister Finlayson, Ryan Sewell and Matt Johnston, who added two penalties and three conversions. Player of the day was Mitchell Kelly.
Tuhirangi have now played 11 matches this season without defeat and they will be aiming to make it a round dozen when they clash with Masterton Red Star at Memorial Park on Saturday.
The Tui Cup premier division points table is led by Pioneer on 21 points, followed by Eketahuna on 20, East Coast 19, Greytown 16, Gladstone 6, Carterton 6, Martinborough 5, Bush Sports 5 and Marist 0.
