Herald Appeal: The Herald and the Herald on Sunday are part of a major appeal to raise funds to aid victims of the devastating Boxing Day tsunami.
The newspapers are part of the Australasian APN Group, which has committed $100,000 to start the appeal. Half the money will come from New Zealand, where the appeal is also being supported by APN's magazines NZ Listener and NZ Woman's Weekly, and The Radio Network.
APN NZ National Publishing chief executive officer Ken Steinke said: "We want to show our support in a tangible way, and to lend our resources to assist members of the public to provide financial help as well."
Donations to the Herald Appeal can be made by telephone or at participating North Island BP service stations, which will have special cash and cheque collection points.
